Educational Services of America is currently seeking qualified candidates for Manager of Communications and Public Relations. This newly created position is located at the corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, and reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Research, identify and package media opportunities; maintain contact with selected media.
- Research and recommend appropriate, effective advertising opportunities in traditional and new media; maintain an advertising calendar and budget.
- Interact with division and corporate staff to identify editorial material for division and corporate electronic newsletters; lay out newsletters and oversee distribution; build mailing lists in order to establish and maintain communication of news, programs, services, issues, staff and successes.
- Research, outline and draft editorial for internal and external communications, including news releases, editorial backgrounders, media materials, newsletters and other materials.
- Maintain corporate and division web sites to ensure information is current and reflective of the ESA brand; develop, monitor and measure online advertising/marketing efforts; oversee, track and report on metrics such as Google analytics.
- Conduct primary and secondary research regarding trends, legislation, issues, competitive landscape and strategic alliances.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or public relations.
- Five to seven years functional experience in the areas outlined above.
- Sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated results in executing creative and effective communications programs.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills; command of Associated Press journalism style.
- Demonstrated proficiency in presenting to groups.
- Basic knowledge of design and print production.
- Basic knowledge of web design/functionality.
- High degree of personal organization.
- Results oriented.
- Ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
