Nashville, Tenn., August 28, 2006 – Continuing its national expansion plans, Educational Services of America announced today that it has acquired one school and plans to open or expand 22 additional schools and programs for the 2006-07 academic year.

ESA said the expansion is fueled by its successful track record of providing highly personalized academic and behavioral services for children with a wide range of physical, emotional and developmental disabilities or at risk of dropping out. The Company, which is the nation’s leading private providers of special, alternative and post-secondary educational programs, continues to see strong demand for its creative, interactive and multidisciplinary programs.

With these additions, ESA will manage more than 100 schools and programs in 16 states.

Based in Nashville, Tenn., ESA offers programs and services under four service divisions: ESA Exceptional Schools, Ombudsman Educational Services, College Living Experience and Spectrum Center Schools. For the 2006-07 academic year, ESA plans to:

• Expand its ESA Exceptional Schools, which provide special education programs that deliver highly personalized instruction in small, nurturing classroom settings to students with learning disabilities. In addition to acquiring The Bishop-Eton School in Tampa, ESA plans to open three new campuses, including:
  1. Broach Zephyrhills, northeast of Tampa
  2. Crossroad Clearwater, northwest of St. Petersburg
  3. Crossroads Lakeland, northeast of Tampa

• Expand its Spectrum Center programs, which provide special education programs for students with several behavioral, emotional and learning disabilities. ESA will open a new program in San Jose, Calif., its eighth in that state. ESA also plans to open Spectrum classrooms in several of its new and existing Florida schools, including:
  1. Atlantis Academy in Coral Springs
  2. Atlantis Academy in Palm Beaches
  3. Bishop-Eton
  4. Broach Jacksonville Beaches
  5. Broach Bradenton
  6. Broach Orange Park
  7. Broach South in Jacksonville
  8. Broach Tampa
  9. Broach Zephyrhills
  10. Crossroads Lakeland

• Expand its College Living Experience program, which provides intensive assistance with academic, independent living and social skills to college students with special needs. Building on the success of its flagship Florida campus, CLE is opening new programs in Austin, Texas, and Denver, Colo.

• Expand its Ombudsman Educational Services, which partners with school districts to provide an off-campus, alternative education program that offers highly personalized, computer-assisted learning for at-risk students in middle and high school. New Ombudsman programs include:
  1. Douglasville, Ga.
  2. Columbus, Miss.
  3. Overland Park, Kan.
  4. Two in Cincinnati, Ohio
