Sallie Mae® Financing Available for Eligible ESA Schools

Nashville, Tenn., October 5, 2006 – Sallie Mae® financing is now available to students who attend – or are interested in attending – eligible schools operated by Educational Services of America.

ESA, which is the nation’s leading private provider of special, alternative and post-secondary educational programs, said that Sallie Mae, through SLM Financial Corp., would provide loans to cover tuition and some educational expenses for ESA Exceptional Schools and College Living Experience. Additionally, Florida students eligible to receive McKay Scholarships can supplement those funds with Sallie Mae student loans.

“We are very pleased to have reached this arrangement with Sallie Mae®, said Mark Claypool, ESA founder and CEO. “We are committed to providing highly personalized academic programs for students with a wide range of disabilities. Assisting parents to identify financing options will make it easier for their children to attend an ESA school.

Students attending the following schools are eligible for Sallie Mae financing:
  • ESA Exceptional: Thirty K-12 schools in five states operating under a wide variety of names, including Atlantis Academy, Broach Schools, Crossroad Schools and others. ESA’s traditional private schools – Taylor Road Academy, Carden Academy and Humanex Academy – are also eligible.
  • CLE: Centers in Florida, Texas and Colorado that provide intensive assistance with academic, independent living and social skills to college students with special needs.
  • ESA operates 24 K-12 schools in Florida that accept McKay Scholarships:, including Bishop-Eton, Brevard Learning Clinic, Jupiter Academy and others under the ESA Exceptional brand.
Sallie Mae, which is the nation’s leading provider of student loans, offers a number of attractive tuition loan features, including:
  • Competitive rates based on credit scores
  • Flexible terms from 1-15 years
  • Interest-only payments
  • Additional financing for associated educational costs

Once Sallie Mae receives a complete loan application, a credit score is obtained and the application is reviewed. Within 48 hours after approval, Sallie Mae will notify the school of the acceptance. Tuition and fees are paid directly to the school by Sallie Mae within 72 hours after the completion of all paper work.
