Why did you go into teaching?
I love working with children and feel that I am really making a difference in children’s lives during my time with them.
Why did you choose special education?
I started working as a drug and alcohol counselor five years ago and found that I could really have an impact on a child’s life during some of the more difficult years of adolescence. I feel that working with children with special needs has been my calling and a special blessing.
What keeps you motivated?
My motivation is a flicker of understanding in a child’s eye, followed by a smile.
