Why did you go into teaching?

I wanted to give back to others through the pleasure of sports.

Why did you choose special education?

Twenty-eight years ago, there was no special education, but now I enjoy working with exceptional children.

The coaching philosophy when I came on board at Atlantis was that every student would play, regardless of skill level. I wasn’t particularly thrilled with the concept but took on the challenge anyway. The first year our teams lost badly in every sport

Now I embrace the philosophy and work to provide the students with the best athletic experience possible: nice uniforms, the best equipment and the best officials.

What keeps you motivated?

Every year, I meet a new group and get a new start.

Every year I realize that I see many magical and motivational moments such as: student’s first touchdown. I do everything I can for my students. “This job is bigger than I am”.
